Prayers of the Faithful The Transfiguration of the Lord 6 August 2023

1. For the Church: that Jesus’ followers today will stand with fearless courage in meeting the challenges of our time. 

   We pray to the Lord. 

2. That ignorance and tolerance will give way to peace and acceptance.We pray to the Lord.

    

3. That hardened hearts will be transformed by the gentle love of Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

4. Let us pray for the youth gathered for World Youth Day in Lisbon. May this be a time of testimony and sharing, of fraternity and thanksgiving, drawing them closer to the love of Christ.

5. That young people will open their hearts, minds, and souls to God in a spirit of generous service.
   
   We pray to the Lord.

6. That the sick will know healing, wholeness, and transformation.
   We pray to the Lord.

7. That those who have died will rest forever in the loving embrace of God.
