Prayers of the Faithful Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time 24 September 2023

  1. That the pope and all Church leaders will be signs of God’s presence among us as they preach the gospel of life and love.

    We pray to the Lord.

  2. That the world leaders will be generous in forgiving others and lead our global community to lasting peace.

    We pray to the Lord.

  3. That farmers and those who pick crops will be strengthened in body, mind, and spirit as the harvest season continues to unfold,

  1. That our parish community will exercise the kind of generosity called for in today’s Gospel and become a place where generous stewardship is practiced beyond measure.

    We pray to the Lord.

  2. For all those affected by the earthquake in Morocco and flooding in Libya. May the Lord comfort those who have lost loved ones, provide strength and healing to survivors, and bravery and courage to those working in rescue and recovery.

  3. That all sick will know recovery from illness and relief from pain.

    7. That those who have died will be welcomed into the everlasting peace of heaven.

ANNOUNCEMENTS 17 September 2023

  1. Registration for Reconciliation and First Communion will be held in Hall #1 on Sunday, September 17 at 3:00 pm and Monday, September 18 at 7:00 pm.  Please attend ONE of the meetings.  If your child was not baptized at St. Philip Neri, please bring along a photocopy of his or her baptismal certificate.
  2. English Missals have arrived and can be purchased for $10 dollars at the office during regular office hours.
  3. Parish Harvest Potluck Social, Karaoke, Trivia Night Saturday October 7, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus St. Philip Neri. Save the date.

  4. The Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of St. Philip Neri’s Table will be held from September 24 to October 8, 2023. There will be a box in the lobby for your donations. The most needed items are canned beans, meat, chicken, fish, soups and vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, tomato sauce, sugar, salt, coffee, and cereal. Thanks for your generosity!

  5. The 12:00 noon senior choir is looking for new members. If you like to sing, come out and join us! Rehearsals are held every Sunday at          11:00 am . If you are 18 years of age or older and are interested please leave your name and number with the office or speak to a choir member after mass.

  6. CWG is hosting a Bingo Fun Night on Friday September 22 at 7:00 pm in the Lower Hall.  Tickets are $15 and will be sold at the door. Refreshments included.

  1. For the Church: that we may place a supreme value on seeking the reign of God and utilize all our talents to deepen our relationship with God.

  2. For confidence in God’s love for each of us: that we may rely upon God’s generous love to sustain us and bring good out of all the experiences of our lives.
    We pray to the Lord.

  3. For freedom of spirit: that God will free our hearts from all that entraps them and help us to be free to share our knowledge, gifts, and possessions with those who are suffering.

  4. Let us pray for the youth travelling to World Youth Day in Lisbon. That they will go in haste, without distraction or delay, but with readiness and joy. May this be a time of testimony and sharing, of fraternity and thanksgiving, drawing them closer to Christ.

  5. For all children who are at risk, particularly those in homes with drug addiction or violence: that God will protect them from harm and help their caregivers to protect and nurture them.

  7. That the dead will know the treasures that await them in the Kingdom of heaven.
