  1. Our Big Hearts Building Fundraiser continues to grow to pay down the roof debt of $300,000. Thank you for your creative ways in raising cash. This week’s total anonymous donations of $xxx make the current total: $73,673.00!! Thank you for your generosity. Please continue to give.
  1. Couples for Christ host a Christian Life Program for families on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Learn new ways to strengthen your spiritual life. 
  1. The last chance to register your child for the English First Communion Program, is September 29 after the 9:15 a.m. Mass in Hall # 2, and next Sunday, October 6 also after the 9:15 a.m. Mass downstairs in Hall 1. Please see Coordinator, Jacquie.
  1. St. Francis Days are coming! On Friday, October 4 is the Solemn Trilingual Feast Day Mass at 7:30 p.m. followed by all night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
  1. On Saturday, October 5, we celebrate the 800th Anniversary of St. Francis meeting the Sultan. Special movies: Francis & Clare shown at 10:00 a.m. and The Sultan and the Saint at 1:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Bring your lunch. The Annual St. Francis Pet Blessing is at 12:00 p.m. in our St. Francis Garden! Please see posters for details.
  1. The Annual LifeChain is Sunday, October 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We silently pray for 1 hour once a year in support of the Gift of Life! Please join our parish in this prayer vigil at Jane and Wilson streets.
  1. The CWL meets Monday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. and hosts BINGO NIGHT on October 18 at 7:00 p.m. Buy your tickets at the office.
  1. The Parish Council meets Wednesday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m.
  1. Capuchin Day of Discernment is on Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for men 18 to 40 years of age. Come, discover living as a Franciscan Capuchin in the Service of God. Spend a day in prayer, meet the Brothers who live the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi. Please call the parish office.
  1. St. Vincent de Paul Society asks you please bring your canned meats and food for our neighbors this week as Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks!

The Office of Vocations is hosting an Evening at the Seminary on Monday, October 7 at 4:45 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Seminary.  This event is for men in Grades 12 and older to come and experience seminary life.  The evening will include Mass and supper with the seminary community followed by a short talk by Fr.
